Elise

Elise, starring 1940s cinema siren Veronica Lake, wearing her ‘don’t-mess-with-me’ expression, Elise celebrates our intrepid desire to travel, to explore, and to take a step into the unknown. Named after Elise Eskilsdotter, 15th century Norwegian noblewoman-turned-pirate, Ellise turns the question of travel into a matter of self-discovery: while Henry VIII’s Mary Rose and a hot air balloon represent our thirst to see the world, a deeper notion of where we come from and where we’re going is embedded amongst the exotic flora and fauna. Call it fate or freewill, every path we take is an adventure waiting to be discovered –and in a time of limited travel, there’s real joy in that.
